Social Platforms Breakdown ✍

PLATFORMS TO KNOW

…..AND WHEN TO USE THEM!

Facebook

Facebook is your come-one, come-all place for marketing businesses of any kind. Truly, the beauty of Facebook is in its ability to attract regular users of every different background, age, socioeconomic status, religious/political beliefs, and so on. Basically, Facebook is your casserole of demographics; you can find an endless array of individual ingredients that somehow all exist in one dish (or social platform)😉. This has its benefits of giving you no limit to who you want to target with your content.

Twitter

Twitter is the platform for what we like to call “shouting”. This platform is full of quirky, usually funny, information that may or may not be useful. It’s a great place to socialize your business with your followers; a kick-your-feet-up type of platform where you can be more casual. One of the largest Twitter marketing success stories is the fast food chain Wendy’s. They took advantage of the easygoing atmosphere to poke fun at other businesses, and even their own followers. It’s a tactic that historically would have been a risky move, however, Twitter has created the perfect platform to make your business’s content memorable.

Instagram

You could call the Instagram platform a little vain - it’s all about looks! Instagram is the perfect place to show off your creative images, graphic design capabilities, or photo editing mastery! While it’s definitely an aesthetic-focused platform, that doesn’t diminish its marketing power. Our visual experience is a powerful one, and harnessing that power to infiltrate your potential customer’s brain feed with your product is the goal.

LinkedIn

Suit up, because LinkedIn is for the pros. This is the platform to show off your business or brand’s expertise and grow your relationships with consumers and even other businesses. We all know it’s about who you know - so the more well-connected your brand or business is, your rate of success is only going to increase. Marketing yourself is key in reaching the right audience; consumers want to know you’re the expert. Share your certifications, webinars or conferences you attend, and industry tips or advice.

Google My Business

If a customer is looking to find out more about your business, 99% of the time they’re all going to do the same thing first: Google you! Google My Business is a platform that gives you the opportunity to control the initial narrative about your business. Provide key information about your business, interact with customers through reviews and answering any questions, and add photos that represent your business or product well. Google My Business is also an amazing resource for data analytics on your customers and how they interact with your business digitally.

Snapchat

Snapchat is the most personal way to connect with an audience, especially a younger audience. This platform fosters an environment of authenticity, which is the driving force behind every product the rising generations consume. This audience wants to feel a raw, behind-the-scenes type of vibe from the content you produce on Snapchat; it makes your business relatable, approachable, and most importantly, believable. Utilize this platform to share a closer look at your business and offer special discounts or promotions exclusive *only* to your Snapchat followers.
