Plan Your Social (Media) Calendar ✍️

What's on your social calendar? 💃

May is here, so we're sharing some best practices to keep in mind when planning your monthly social media calendar.

Plan Content For The Month

It’s impossible to predict when that perfect content opportunity will happen; some of the best and most authentic-feeling content happens spontaneously. However, you need an outline of your content plans month by month, and even more broadly across each quarter, to prevent you from scrambling every day for something to post! This gives you a better viewpoint of how you’ll achieve your goals and stay on course with your overall strategy.

You should incorporate the “here and now” in your content each month. Engage with your audience about events happening locally, or even nationally. Are they going? Are they tuning in? Interacting with your audience about relevant news or happenings in the community makes your page or business feel friendly.

Stay consistent with the quantity of posts and the time of day you are posting; your followers AND the social media algorithms like consistency.

Stay True To Your Brand

Ask yourself how you're providing real value to your followers with the content plans you've made. Are you staying true to your brand? Don’t let all of the hard work you or your team has put into branding exercises go by the wayside. Think about the larger vision of the brand image you want to present to your followers and convey that through every post.

Keep Profiles Fresh & Updated

The phrase “set it and forget it” is a social media pitfall.

Get in the habit of updating your profiles often and keep up with your brand/business’s changes and growth. Your social media profiles should reflect that growth! Add to your Instagram highlights, pin a new post to your Facebook page, swap out a cover image, or update any links in your bios with upcoming events or more relevant content.

Stay on top of any new features rolled out by platforms you’re using. TikTok recently launched filters; try them out in your posts! Social media platforms’ algorithms will reward you for utilizing their newest features.
